Christmas online sessions are now up over on the Events page.

I am David Harrison, musician, author and teacher. I have written several best-selling books, including a number of popular educational titles.

I specialise in teaching adults, mainly saxophone, guitar and music theory, and I have taught at City Lit, London’s largest adult education centre, for over thirty years.

There’s more about me here.

This week’s Guitar Song Essentials video

This Friday, it’s Stevie Wonder’s spectacular Overjoyed, which I’ve wanted to cover for ages. It actually fits suprisingly well under the fingers on a single guitar and I managed to find place in the arrangement for some signposting on the top strings to help me reach those hard-to-pitch notes.

A beautiful, ingenious and timeless classic and I hope you enjoy the treatment it gets here!

I now offer a variety of engaging online classes ranging from one-off and short courses to ongoing weekly group sessions. Take a look at the events page and see what’s right for you. Alternatively, if you have a question or something in mind, drop me a line! This summer, aside from my weekly acoustic jazz guitar classes and my acoustic guitar sessions, we had a wonderful series of online uke sessions and a new course entitled How Chords Work, which was a grand success!

For the Autumn term of 2022, I have a range of classes at City Lit beginning the week of 19 Sept, including various online courses; with in-the-building beginner folk & pop guitar classes, a jazz guitar class and sax classes too—and online sax and improv classes on Saturdays. I’m also delighted to be back at Mary Ward Centre on Wednesdays with beginner and improving guitar classes.
